Guido Werdnig (Ratschach, June 20, 1844 – April 26, 1919) was an Austrian neurologist.[1]
Werdnig-Hoffmann disease (also known as spinal muscular atrophy type I) is named for him: it was first described in the 1890s by Guido Werdnig of the University of Vienna and Johann Hoffmann of the University of Heidelberg.
